| UAW-Dodge 400 Pre-Race Notes CE DIEHARDS - February 28, 2008 After a stellar performance in the Auto Club 500 that seen Carl Edwards win his first race of the 2008 season, the Missouri native remains out west to race the UAW-Dodge 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. Edwards led 64 laps en route to his win last weekend at the two-mile California Speedway. This weekend's Race Car for Las Vegas - Carl Edwards will be driving Chassis No. RK-558 out of the Roush Fenway Racing shops. The car is a brand new that was tested during the Preseason Thunder session in January at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. ODDS TO WIN AT LVMS - Carl Edwards is a 12:1 favorite to win the UAW-Dodge 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway according to the Vegas Insider. Edwards at Vegas - Carl Edwards has competed in 3 events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with light success at the venue. Edwards has only finished in the top-ten once at the track, led 3 laps, he has completed every lap of competition at the track by running 804 of 804 laps, has an average start of 18.0 and an average finish of 15.3, with $322,875 in winnings. Back in the Dish - For the second weekend in a row Carl Edwards will be piloting the Dish Network Ford Fusion. Edwards won last weekend it the first race with the paint scheme. QUOTING CARL EDWARDS - "Similar to Fontana, we had a really good test at Vegas. I feel like our Vegas test was better than the California test, so I'm really looking forward to this weekend. Bob (Osborne) is a really smart guy and has done a great job with my cars lately, so I know whatever we unload will be good." QUOTING BOB OSBORNE - We had a really good test at Las Vegas earlier this month, but since we raced our test car at Fontana last week, we have to bring a brand new car to Vegas because there?s no time for turnaround. We didn't test the car we?re bringing this weekend, but it's exactly like the car we tested and raced in California. With the new cars, we can't turn them around as fast as with the old ones, so we went back and built an identical car to our Fontana car. Hopefully our car will be just as good as last week's car - if not better. If that's the case, we should have another good weekend. Vegas is a great track and a fun town - I'm looking forward hopefully to back-to-back wins for the Dish Network team." |
